About the Symposium
Since 2018, VSOE has pursued the evolution of offshore engineering in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific - from geotechnics and foundation design, to sustainable marine planning, to interdisciplinary approaches for offshore infrastructure. VSOE 2027 carries that trajectory forward into its most pressing new frontier: climate resilience.
As sea-level rise, extreme weather, and shifting coastal dynamics place growing pressure on both offshore and onshore assets, the boundary between "offshore" and "coastal" engineering is increasingly one that infrastructure planning can no longer treat separately. VSOE 2027 responds by widening its scope to include coastal infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and climate risk assessment alongside its established focus on offshore geotechnics, foundations, and renewable energy systems.
Organized by AVSE Global in collaboration with the Petrovietnam University (PVU), the symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry leaders to examine how integrated, low-carbon, and resilient design can meet the compounding demands of energy transition and climate adaptation. Through keynote speeches, technical sessions, and panel discussions, VSOE 2027 aims to translate this expanded agenda into practical pathways for Vietnam's offshore wind and energy sectors, and for the region's coastal communities and infrastructure more broadly.
All submitted papers will be reviewed by experts in the field, evaluated on originality, significance, quality, and clarity. The VSOE 2027 proceedings will be published by Springer and indexed by Scopus and EI Compendex database.
