2024 CCUS WORKSHOP – CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
2024 CCUS Workshop marks the first collaboration between Petrovietnam University (PVU) and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). Our goal is to spearhead initiatives and foster innovation that will lead the way for CCUS technologies in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This pioneering event aims to set a foundational platform for future research, development, and implementation of CCUS technologies, ensuring sustainable energy solutions that are critical for the region's environmental and economic future.
PRESENT YOUR WORK AT THE 2024 CCUS CONFERENCE
The Congress organizers are pleased to inform all distinguished readers and those interested in the workshop of the following important information:

The workshop will take place as follows:
II. SUBMIT YOUR TITLES AND ABTRACTS
We invite you to submit a title & abstract in the 2024 CCUS Workshop. Abstracts must be submitted via Google form.
Submitted abstracts can be considered for oral presentations – as talks of 15–20 mins.
III. SUBMIT YOUR FULL PRESENTATIONS
After we receive all the titles and abstracts submitted by you, based on the relevance of the content, the Committee will select the titles and abstracts that will be presented at the CCUS 2024 workshop.
The selection criteria will be addressed in the Important Points section below.
We will send official notifications via email to presenters whose titles and abstracts are suitable for the CCUS 2024 workshop. We kindly request that these presenters submit their full presentations using THIS SUBMIT FORM before September 15th, 2024.
IV. REGISTER TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE WITHOUT PRESENTATION
To register for the CCUS 2024 Workshop as an attendee without presenting, we kindly request that you register using THIS SUBMIT FORM.
Please note that seating is limited, so we encourage you to register early. Information about seating arrangements will be communicated via email along with the invitation.
KEY TOPICS
The speakers will deliver in-depth and insightful orations, focusing on the following key topics:
- Carbon credit trading available on the market
- A review of CarbonSAFE project in the USA
- Review of Wellbore Integrity for Class VI Wells (CO Injection Wells)
- Geomechanics modeling for CCS applications
While focusing on those core topics above, the workshop remains open to speakers on various other subjects
IMPORTANT POINTS
EDUCATION ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are also invited on “Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage”. These should preferably report research findings on aspects of teaching/learning, but other original contributions to current topics in education and career development are also welcome.
Each registrant can submit only one education abstract for evaluation, but may submit both a research and an education abstract from the same registration.
Other general points stated for research abstracts also apply to education abstracts.
ASSESSMENT AND SCREENING
Abstracts will be assessed by members of the Scientific Committee.
All abstracts submitted to the Workshop will be screened for relevance to the Workshop's scientific content and for presentation.
Abstracts not meeting the quality standards will not be accepted.
Abstracts submitted for consideration for oral presentation will be assessed for scientific quality, novelty, and the fit with the Workshop subtopics.
Notification of outcomes of assessment for oral presentation and confirmation of acceptance of abstracts to the Workshop are expected to be available in mid-August 2024
